DEP public hearing on ‘Clean Energy Standard’ 3/10-3/12

Notice is hereby given that the Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP), in accordance with the provisions of M.G.L. c. 111, sections 142A and 142B, and M.G.L. c. 21N, has rescheduled three public hearings on a proposed new regulation titled Clean Energy Standard (310 CMR 7.75). The three hearings were originally scheduled for February 9 and 10, 2015.

The purpose of the Clean Energy Standard is to reduce Massachusetts’ reliance on fossil fuel-fired electric power plants by increasing the use of clean energy to generate electricity. The regulation would implement a policy included in the Massachusetts Clean Energy and Climate Plan for 2020.

The three public hearings will be conducted under the provisions of Chapter 30A of the Massachusetts General Laws:

  • March 10, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. – MassDEP Headquarters, One Winter Street, Boston, MA – (617) 292-5500
  • March 11, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. – MassDEP Central Regional Office, 8 New Bond Street, Worcester, MA – (508) 792-7650
  • March 12, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. – MassDEP Southeast Regional Office, 20 Riverside Drive, Lakeville, MA – (508) 946-2700

Testimony may be presented orally or in writing at the public hearings. Written comments also will be accepted until March 23,
